Who We Are
Palmetto Prime is a social organization for older gay or bisexual men in Charleston, SC. Our members choose to enrich their lives through diverse activities in our Chapter. There is not a single definition that can describe Palmetto Prime members. We come from all walks of life. One thing is true of all Palmetto Prime members; we enjoy the opportunities and friendships that develop in our Chapter.
Palmetto Prime of Charleston, SC, is a chapter of the Prime Timers Worldwide (PTWW) organization. We welcome members from other chapters to visit us. We are a 501c7 organization.
The Palmetto tree is the state tree of South Carolina.
What We Do
- Fourth Sunday, 5:00 to 7 PM – Sunday Social and food event in Lance Hall behind the Circular Congregational Church 150 Meeting St.
- First Wednesday 11:30 AM – Lunch at various area restaurants.
- Happy Hour on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 5 PM – Gather at local establishments for libations, chat, and usually dinner afterward.
- Other activities – Occasionally, events include special trips locally, pool parties, holiday parties, and local shows.

You can now submit your application online here. Go to the page and fill out the required fields and then click the submit button on the page to send it to us. If you prefer, you can still download our application, fill it out, and bring it to an event or mail it to us.
Yearly dues are $20. Why not also pay your dues online using ZELLE which is available through most banks. Send your dues to: primetimerscharleston@yahoo.com. Don’t have ZELLE? You can pay your dues at an event or mail it to us along with a check to “Palmetto Prime”.
