DESCRIPTION:Book selection\, “Open\, Heaven\,” by Seán Hewitt \n\nOpen\, Heaven is Seán Hewitt’s debut novel\, a lyrical coming of age story about two teenage boys\, James and Luke\, exploring first love and desire in a remote Emglish village in the early 2000s. The novel follows the sheltered James as he meets the charismatic but troubled Luke\, and their intense\, transformative relationship unfolds over the course of a year\, exploring themes of sexuality\, memory\, and the conflict between personal longing and community expectations. It has been praised for its poetic prose and poignant depiction of queer adolescence. \nOur group will meet at Anthony’s home in Rodger’s Forge in Towson.
