DESCRIPTION:Book selection\, “Savage Season\,” by Joe R. Lansdale\n\nSavage Season is the first novel in the Hap and Leonard series\, introducing the unlikely crime-fighting duo of Hap Collins and Leonard Pine\, a white straight man and a black gay man from East Texas. Published in 1990\, the book follows the pair as they get involved in a dangerous scheme to find buried money\, orchestrated by Hap’s ex-girlfriend Trudy\, leading to a mix of dark humor\, action\, and violence. It’s known for its sharp dialogue\, unique characters\, and blend of crime\, suspense\, and regional storytelling\, and it served as the basis for the first season of the Hap and Leonard TV series. \nOur group will meet at Anthony’s home in Rodger’s Forge in Towson.
