Welcome to Palmetto Prime
Come for the Fun, Stay for the Friendships!
Palmetto Prime is more than a social group—it’s a vibrant, welcoming community for gay and bisexual men, and those who identify as male, right here in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. We’re all about real connections, shared experiences, and friendships that grow naturally over time.
Whether you’re new to Charleston, looking to expand your circle, or simply want to spend more time with great guys, you’ll find a friendly, inclusive group that makes it easy to feel at home.
Our calendar is full of things to look forward to—lively happy hours, beach walks, laid-back brunches, cultural outings, and unforgettable boys’ nights out. From casual hangouts to special events, there’s always something happening and always someone new to meet.
Palmetto Prime is a 501(c)(7) nonprofit organization, proudly run by members, for members. No pressure. No pretense. Just a great group of men enjoying life, building community, and making memories together.

What We Do
- Usually on the Fourth Sunday, 5:00 to 7 PM – Sunday Social and food event in Lance Hall behind the Circular Congregational Church, 150 Meeting St.
- First Wednesday, 11:30 AM – Lunch at various area restaurants.
- Happy Hour on the 2nd Wednesday or Thursday of the month at 5 PM – Gather at local establishments for libations, chat, and usually dinner afterward.
- Other activities: Occasionally, events include special local trips, pool parties, holiday parties, and local shows.

How to Join
If you are interested in joining, please read the Palmetto Prime Terms and Conditions first. Click on Palmetto Prime Terms and Conditions 2026. If you agree, you can now submit your application online here using our fillable form. Open the application, complete the required fields, then click the submit button to send it to us. If your application is submitted correctly, you will receive an email. Use Zelle to submit your dues to primetimerscharleston@yahoo.com.
If you prefer, you can download our form, complete it, and bring it with your dues to an event, or mail the application and check to us at the address below. Please make your check payable to “Palmetto Prime.” Yearly dues are $5 per month, paid $60 annually in January, or in the month you join. For Senior Members aged 75 and over, dues are $40.
