Day Trip to Bull Island

October 7 @ 12:30 pm - 5:00 pm
October is a delightful month to immerse yourself in nature, and we have an exciting day trip planned just north of Mt. Pleasant! On Tuesday, October 7, we’ll embark on our adventure in the mid-afternoon during low tide. Our journey begins with a scenic 30-minute ride on the Coastal Expeditions ferry, gliding through enchanting marshes and meandering creeks. We’ll explore the pristine freshwater lakes of Bull Island and enjoy the diverse wildlife before setting off on a hike to the stunning Boneyard Beach at low tide. Be sure to pack a light backpack with water, a snack, a sun hat, and bug spray for your comfort. On the island, you’ll find a set of restrooms conveniently located near the ferry dock. Each participant will need to secure a $55 ferry ticket, available for purchase online at CoastalExpeditions.com, approximately 7-10 days before our trip. It’s wise to bring a bit of cash for tipping at the end of our wonderful day, though you can also tip online when you buy your tickets. As the date approaches, keep an eye on your email for more details and updates on our Facebook page. The Bulls Island Ferry departs from Garris Landing, located at 498 Bulls Island Rd, Awendaw, SC—north of Mt. Pleasant off Hwy 17N. Please park in the designated grass area marked “Bulls Island Ferry.” To ensure a smooth start to our adventure, make sure to arrive at the parking area at least 30 minutes before the 12:30 PM ferry departure. The dock leading to the ferry is quite long, and they do not wait for late arrivals. Get ready for an unforgettable day in nature!
