PTKC Annual Meeting & Potluck Dinner!

Gentlemen, it’s nearly time for our Annual Meeting & Potluck event on Saturday, November 9th from 4
PM – 6:30 PM (with a little cleanup time afterwards). The location is listed below. How do we mark this
auspicious occasion? Why with your presence, of course!
Seriously, this is an important night and we know you’ll enjoy it. Before we get to the sumptuous repast,
let’s yak a bit about the meeting. That night we’ll recap 2024; its events, membership growth, significant
accomplishments and the Nominating Committee will also present the Don McVay Award, recognizing
exceptional contribution to PTKC. Sam E, our illustrious president, will preside with other speakers
representing the Audit, Care, and Events Committees. Additionally, active members nominate and elect
three Board Members. I’ve included details about these openings below.
We’ve also extended invitations to Prime Timers Worldwide, the Mid-Missouri (Columbia), St. Louis,
Wichita, and Omaha chapters to join us. Now on top of this we have a slew of door prizes to hand out
and a 50/50 raffle so everyone has a chance to win. All good stuff, right?
Now onto the most important information. WHAT THE HECK ARE WE EATING!?! It’s a potluck and you
guys know the drill. We provide the entrées, and the Punchbowl invite will have a list of suggested salad,
side dishes, and desserts. Enter your choice and bring your dish to please our collective palates! It’s a BYOB
night as well. Our main courses are spiral cut ham, beef Kofta (a delicious Lebanese dish) and parmesan
chicken meatballs. If someone (that is Jeffrey N.) feels ambitious enough, some home baked bread
will also make it to the table. Of course, we supply cutlery, plates, iced tea, water, etc. When you arrive
one of our designated “Food Runners” will take your dish to the dining area. Yeah, we’re gettin’ a little
la-di-dah, I know. But it’ll work.
Some information about the three Board positions. Sam E. (current president) and Jim W. (current
Secretary) are seeking re-election for their second and final terms. Dan A. served two consecutive years
and is stepping down. If you are a current member and would like to join or nominate another current
member, please contact the Nominating Committee (Greg G. and Jeff S.). Nominations will also be
accepted from the floor during the meeting. We all vote, ballots are tabulated, and new Board Members
are announced that night.
Lastly, we’ll also make It easy to renew your membership for 2025 and accept cash, checks, and credit
cards at the meeting ($30). See? We feed ‘ya and take your dough! (Man, that’s one bad pun!)
We look forward to seeing you and prepare yourself for a thoroughly enjoyable evening! Of course,
please remember that you must be fully vaccinated against Covid to attend.
