Mike arranged with Bruce Winter\, aka Melinda Ryder\, to take us on a private tour of her exhibit “Arrive as a star\, leave as a star” at the Museum of Kansas City on Saturday\, June 14 at 11:00 AM. This one-of-a kind exhibit highlights Melinda’s 50 year career as a drag artist in our city.  The tour is limited to 20 people and PTKC will pick up the tab. Afterwards\, we can grab a bite at the museum’s soda fountain and café called The Elixer and take in other exhibits at this spectacularly restored\, once privately owned mansion known as Corinthian Hall. DESCRIPTION:Ah\, the appeal of Pegah’s in Shawnee. Sure\, the food is pretty darn good and plentiful. Yeah\, the coffee is hot and reasonably potent (I’m lookin’ at you\, Denny’s!) and we get a semi-private (well\, sort of) back room. But the real charm of the place is when our favorite waitress snarls at us\, “Hey old men – are you ready to order?!” You cannot put a price on that.\nClearly we really like this eatery as evidenced by the fact we all tend to hang around way past 1:30. We have a large crowd of PTKC’ers every Friday so it’s worth the jaunt. Parking can be a little tight but you’ll find a space – not to worry. Unfortunately I was more eager to continue my clandestine assignation with GI Joe and Ken (stolen from my sister) who were carrying on a torrid affair unbeknownst to poor Barbie (also stolen from my sister).  But enough about that. Back to bridge. PTKC has a monthly bridge group on the second Thursday of each month.  Games are held at Jim Wright’s home and\, even better\, all skill levels are welcome to join in. Want to join the game? Just keep an eagle eye out for the Punchbowl invitation from Jim!\nSame stuff about vaccines\, guys.
