Yeah\, the coffee is hot and reasonably potent (I’m lookin’ at you\, Denny’s!) and we get a semi-private (well\, sort of) back room. But the real charm of the place is when our favorite waitress snarls at us\, “Hey old men – are you ready to order?!” You cannot put a price on that. \nClearly we really like this eatery as evidenced by the fact we all tend to hang around way past 1:30. We have a large crowd of PTKC’ers every Friday so it’s worth the jaunt. Parking can be a little tight but you’ll find a space – not to worry. DESCRIPTION:We last visited True Food Kitchen in September and I tagged along that night. That was the right choice ’cause the food (and company) was great! We even had a really cute waiter! You really can’t quibble with a restaurant with this slogan. “Delicious by chefs\, nutritious by science.” The food is locally sourced\, largely organic and no seed oils are used in their kitchen. Now before you start the eye rolling take a gander at their menu. I mean\, c’mon! Sourdough pizza\, all sorts of salads and bowls and their entrées? Lasagne al pesto\, grass-fed meatloaf\, sustainably raised salmon\, grilled tenderloin and I’ll just stop there. But\, this place is definitely worth a visit!\nSo\, let’s make it a great night! Oh\, and do yourselves a favor\, fellas\, and get a jab or two in that arm. It’s cold and flu season after all so stay healthy!

DESCRIPTION:My\, my. Ain’t we the swanky bunch. Now occasionally we go a tad upscale and Brown & Loe in KC’s River Market is the perfect venue. In the 1940’s\, Brown and Loe was originally a produce broker in the Merchant’s Bank building. Fast forward to today and Brown and Loe Restaurant celebrates some really outstanding American comfort cuisine. This is a true local venue\, evidenced by the restaurant’s allegiance to the resident farmers and food artisans who supply most of the restaurant’s fresh ingredients. Yeah\, it’s a bit pricey\, but not over the top nuts. You’re gonna enjoy this place.\nI’ll see you there. (Oh\, and keep Vinny the Vaccine Fairy happy!)\n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Ah\, J. Alexander’s in Overland Park. It’s a pretty classy joint ’cause they use the word entrée not entree (okay\, I’m easily impressed). And\, ’cause we PTKC’ers are a pretty classy group to Overland Park we go for Happy Hour and Dinner! Now drink-wise\, J. Alexander’s has an impressive and extensive wine list and craft cocktails. Their dinner menu is totally keeping with the libations with multiple burgers and sandwiches\, steaks\, prime rib and seafood and other specialties. But every now and then we should indulge ourselves just a bit. Vivilore is the place to do that and exploring our own\, unique “life stories” together is what makes Prime Timers so special. Yeah\, the coffee is hot and reasonably potent (I’m lookin’ at you\, Denny’s!) and we get a semi-private (well\, sort of) back room. But the real charm of the place is when our favorite waitress snarls at us\, “Hey old men – are you ready to order?!” You cannot put a price on that. \nClearly we really like this eatery as evidenced by the fact we all tend to hang around way past 1:30. We have a large crowd of PTKC’ers every Friday so it’s worth the jaunt. Parking can be a little tight but you’ll find a space – not to worry.
