DESCRIPTION:Wow. I didn’t know that Grand Street Cafe\, on the Country Club Plaza\, has been around for over 30 years. It’s a pretty classy joint\, locally owned and operated and serving “Modern American Cuisine.” No\, I don’t know what that is either but food and drinks are great\, the service is spot on and it’s a really good place to socialize and dine! Perfect for PTKC’ers who crave a somewhat more “upscale” experience. Now fellas\, don’t be put off by the Grilled Fillet Mignon price. There are plenty of other\, more reasonable and equally delicious options available. Now if you really want that dish (I do!) just call it Chateaubriand\, take a deep breath and order it. DESCRIPTION:So\, gentlemen? A few of your fellow PTKC’ers asked for a later dining start time. While many of us are retired\, several are still working guys and starting in June\, we’re scheduling our Wednesday night dining escapades to start at 7:00 PM. My maternal grandfather used to tell me that civilized people don’t dine before 8:00 PM. Prior to meeting him for an evening repast\, I would sneak a couple of PB&J sandwiches. But back to Meddys. This restaurant has been around since 2014 and has garnered a large following! It’s authentic\, healthy Mediterranean fare at reasonable prices. Portion sizes are generous and there’s a wide selection of signature cocktails. There’s even vegan and gluten-free options. Nice\, huh? \nSo\, let’s meet at Meddys for a meal! Remember\, it’s a 7:00 PM start time! (Stay healthy\, guys!) \n

SUMMARY:Lunch at Pegah's Restaurant - Shawnee
DESCRIPTION:Ah\, the appeal of Pegah’s in Shawnee. Sure\, the food is pretty darn good and plentiful. Yeah\, the coffee is hot and reasonably potent (I’m lookin’ at you\, Denny’s!) and we get a semi-private (well\, sort of) back room. But the real charm of the place is when our favorite waitress snarls at us\, “Hey old men – are you ready to order?!” You cannot put a price on that. \nClearly we really like this eatery as evidenced by the fact we all tend to hang around way past 1:30. We have a large crowd of PTKC’ers every Friday so it’s worth the jaunt. Parking can be a little tight but you’ll find a space – not to worry. You’ll schmooze with the crowds (decked out in your Pride finery) extoll the benefits of PTKC and maybe\, just maybe\, encourage a few guys to join us! This will be fun! The festival runs from Friday\, June 6 through Sunday\, June 8 and includes The Pride Parade on Saturday. We need at least two volunteers at the booth for all three days. Of course\, feel free to volunteer for more than one shift. \nFriday\, June 6  – Opening Night – 5 to 10 PM – Two 2.5 hour shifts – We need four volunteers (5 – 7:30 PM & 7:30 – 10 PM) \nSaturday\, June 7 – Festival Day Two – 12 to 10 PM – Two 3 hour shifts and one 4 hour shift – We need six volunteers (12 – 3 PM\, 3 – 6 PM & 6 – 10 PM) \nSunday\, June 8 – Festival Day Three – 11 AM – 5 PM – Two 3 hour shifts – We need four volunteers (11 AM – 2 PM & 2 PM – 5 PM) \nSo\, guys\, stay tuned for the Punch Bowl invite so you can sign up.
