Does that mean that a collective bunch of PTKC men can’t have a great time there? Not at all!\nLocated in the heart of the historic Englewood Arts District in Independence\, “Vivilore” comes from Latin; viva means life and lore means story — life story. The menu is beautifully crafted and very sophisticated. Take a moment and peruse their cuisine. Now be warned\, no prices are listed. This place is not inexpensive. But every now and then we should indulge ourselves just a bit. Vivilore is the place to do that and exploring our own\, unique “life stories” together is what makes Prime Timers so special. You’ll just sacrifice next month’s mortgage payment in doing so.\nOh\, c’mon! I was gettin’ entirely too sappy and some wry sarcasm was called for! Guys\, just join us!\n

DESCRIPTION:Ah\, the appeal of Pegah’s in Shawnee. Sure\, the food is pretty darn good and plentiful. Yeah\, the coffee is hot and reasonably potent (I’m lookin’ at you\, Denny’s!) and we get a semi-private (well\, sort of) back room. But the real charm of the place is when our favorite waitress snarls at us\, “Hey old men – are you ready to order?!” You cannot put a price on that. \nClearly we really like this eatery as evidenced by the fact we all tend to hang around way past 1:30. We have a large crowd of PTKC’ers every Friday so it’s worth the jaunt. Parking can be a little tight but you’ll find a space – not to worry. SUMMARY:It's Movie Night at Jim and Sam's in Leawood!
DESCRIPTION:It’s the much beloved Two-Fer Movie Night at Sam and Jim’s in Leawood! Two movies will be shown simultaneously in their spacious residence and you can choose which one appeals to you. The upstairs flick is Death Becomes Her. Now this 1992 movie is a much beloved film. It’s a black comedy fantasy film directed and produced by Robert Zemeckis and starring Meryl Streep\, Goldie Hawn\, Bruce Willis\, and Isabella Rossellini. Its plot follows two women who drink a magic potion that promises eternal youth with surprising consequences. I mean\, c’mon! What a cast! If you haven’t seen it I promise you’re gonna love it.\nNow showing downstairs is Unicorns. Unicorns is a drama directed by James Krishna Floyd and Sally El Hosaini\, released in 2024. The film stars Ben Hardy as Luke\, a single father and mechanic who is forced to question his sexual identity when he unexpectedly falls in love with Aysha (Jason Patel)\, a drag queen. The film premiered in the Special Presentations program at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival to great fanfare. It was just released in the US this month.\nOur hosts graciously provide popcorn\, a few nibbles\, water and ice tea so BYOB if you’re so inclined.
