DESCRIPTION:We’re bringing members from Kansas City\, Mid-Missouri and St. Louis together for a terrific event in St. Louis. Food\, fun\, sights to visit and the opportunity to meet and socialize with our peers across the state. The event takes place on Saturday\, May 10th from 3 – 6 PM. But wait\, there’s more! If you want\, we’re making a weekend out of it and we have various options available. Read on for the details. \nA. Travel and Lodging Options \n\nDriving\n\n\nOption 1a. (Saturday Arrival\, Host Stay):\n\nDrive to St. Louis on Saturday morning\, arriving by 3:00 PM.\nStay overnight with a St. Louis Prime Timers member.\nReturn home on Sunday.\n\n\nOption 1b (Saturday Arrival\, Hotel Stay):\n\nDrive to St. Louis on Saturday morning\, arriving by 3:00 PM.\nStay one night in a hotel.\nReturn home on Sunday.\n\n\nOption 1c (Friday Arrival\, Hotel Stay):\n\nDrive to St. Louis on Friday.\nStay two nights in a hotel.\nAttend the Gathering on Saturday.\nReturn home on Sunday.\n\n\n\n2. Amtrak Train ($78 Round Trip): \n\nOption 2a (Saturday Arrival\, Hotel or Host Stay):\n\n\n\n\nTake the Saturday morning train from Union Station in Kansas City (departs 8:40 AM\, arrives 2:20 PM). Please note that the train can be late. Just keep this in mind.\nTake an Uber to the Gathering.\nStay one night in a hotel OR with a St. Louis member.\nReturn to Kansas City on Sunday (trains leave at 8:10 AM or 3:11 PM).\n\n\nOption 2b (Friday Arrival\, Hotel Stay):\n\nTake the Friday morning train (8:40 AM) OR evening train (4:05 PM) from Kansas City. \n\n\n\nStay two nights in a hotel.\nAttend the Gathering on Saturday.\nReturn to Kansas City on Sunday (trains leave at 8:10 AM or 3:11 PM).\n\n\n\nThings to Do in St. Louis: \n\nLGBTQ+ Exhibit at the History Museum\nThe Gateway Arch\nCatholic Cathedral & Basilica\nHolocaust Museum\nSt. Louis Aquarium (at Union Station)\nThe Old Courthouse (Dred Scott decision site)\nSt. Louis Ferris Wheel (at Union Station)\n\nOur Group’s Plan (Sam\, Jim\, Doug\, and others): \nWe are choosing Option 2b: \n\nTaking the Friday morning Amtrak train to St. Louis.\nStaying two nights at the Drury Inn at the Arch.\nAttending the Gathering on Saturday.\nReturning on the Sunday afternoon Amtrak train (4:05 PM).\n\nThis allows us to enjoy the train ride together\, avoid potential train delays on Saturday and have time for sightseeing. This will be a really great event. Chose what works best for you and keep an eye out for the Punchbowl invitation for more details! \nFinally\, gentlemen\, just consider your vaccine and health status. There’s still lots of buggy stuff out there. Let’s all stay healthy together. \n  \n
