President’s Report
November & December 2024
As we enter November and December we have expectations for the holiday season. All of us approach this time of the year with unique memories. One guarantee is that our New Orleans Chapter will meet for four events during these two months.
On the second Wednesday in November, we are looking forward to a new restaurant experience at Bistro Orleans in Metairie. Chef Archie Saurage, born & raised in New Orleans, specializes in classic and casual dining offering all fresh ingredients to his soups and sauces. The LGBTQ+ Community is impressed with the quality of the dining experience at this restaurant.
Our Holiday party is scheduled for Wednesday evening December 11th from 6-9pm at Vincent’s Restaurant in Metairie. We evaluated menus from ten different restaurants. We are in a separate room next to the restaurant. They will set up round tables for 8. Decorations will be provided by the restaurant–garland, a tree and a centerpiece on each table.
Cash Bar-each person buys their own alcohol. Eggplant appetizer, bread and butter, a side dish of Penne pasta and a vegetable The Dessert is White chocolate Bread Pudding. Please consult the menu below for three entree choices–no more than three choices. Popular Entree Selections include–Chicken Parmesan; Catfish Amandine; Shrimp and Penne Alfredo; and /or Lasagna. Each member attending shall pay $20 with the remaining cost, including tax and tip, to be covered by GNOPT. If you bring a non-member guest the cost is $60 per guest.
Aside from all of the celebrations and parties we know that these next two months are often difficult for many individuals and for us Gay men. Social networks that are large and composed of frequent contact have been associated with lower levels of social isolation, loneliness, and depression among older adults. As a member of PTWW you are a part of an international society of Gay and Bisexual men.
