SUMMARY:PPT endorses P*Town Bar
DESCRIPTION:Pittsburgh Prime Timers endorses P*Town Bar November 14\, 2021 \nP*Town bar has invited PPT to a tea dance/disco to show appreciation for the older gay patrons who have supported the venue over the years. \nCelebrated DJ Billy Sandor will be mixing it up with good sounds and vibes from the 70’s. The music will creep up on you\, the dance floor will take hold of you\, and you will revel in boisterous pleasure. \nNo cover charge. \nWhy do they call it a tea dance? \nTea dances were events organized on Sunday afternoons in the homosexual community in New York beginning in the 1950s and 1960s. The name alludes to traditional tea dances of the English countryside. The dances included tea service. They were a place for singles to meet.

SUMMARY:Dumpling Party
DESCRIPTION:PrimeTimers® Member Brett Rutherford came to Pittsburgh in 2016 and quickly found a favorite Chinese restaurant in Squirrel Hill. It was originally known as “Sakura\,” serving both sushi and Chinese food\, but now it has re-opened as “Amazing Dumplings” with a new menu centering on colorful dumplings and noodle dishes originating in North China. The dumplings and their fillings are created by Ping Geng\, and her husband\, Feng Gao\, supervises the creation of spicy dishes from North China. \nFor our “Dumpling Party\,” Ping Geng will explain the art of new-style dumpling-making\, with colorings and fillings she has created. Brett Rutherford\, a publisher and book designer\, offered to help in the restaurant’s refurbishing\, so he designed more than a dozen large-format digital prints centering on the art of China’s Tang and Song dynasties\, art created while Europe was still in the Middle Ages. Brett will give us a guided tour of the digital art created for Amazing Dumplings. There will be Dargons!
