SUMMARY:Free Zoom Talk on Baking and Bakeries in St. Louis
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, 26 February 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM \nFree Zoom Talk on Baking and Bakeries in St. Louis \nThis free Zoom talk will cover how St. Louisans bake and what St. Louisans bake.  The history starts with the mud ovens the French colonial settlers used\, and goes to the revolving ovens and the deck ovens with stone baking surfaces that bakeries use today.  We have a baking and pastry arts program that is ranked #9 in the nation.  The talk will look at the wide variety of bakeries (over 150) we have in St. Louis today – including a bakery that does not use yeast\, and lots of ethnic bakeries.  And there are large bakeries that bake for national distribution and small bakeries that bake for farmers markets. Plus\, the best cookie shop in America.  All STL Prime Timers will be emailed a link to the free Zoom talk.
