DESCRIPTION:  \nThe old St. Louis saying goes: “First in shoes\, first in booze\, and last in the American League.”  This talk will cover distilleries old and new\, starting with distillery activity in the 19th Century (The oldest distillery in Missouri uses its original still house and makes bourbon from a 165-year-old recipe).  It will cover bootlegging during Prohibition (when things got Wild).  And it will cover today’s craft distillery movement (You can get married in a St. Louis distillery).  We were once the home of Jack Daniel’s whiskey and that whiskey got milked.  The talk will also look at organizations\, festivals\, and legislation. \n  \nAll St. Louis Prime Timer Members will be emailed a link to this free Zoom talk\, given by Doug Schneider.
