DESCRIPTION:We  have a wide variety of cemeteries: including religious cemeteries and a giant military cemetery.  At one point\, all buried people were dug up and moved outside the city limits\, creating some large cemeteries.  Cemeteries used to be places where families picnicked and held horse and carriage races.  Today\, the St. Louis area has plenty of parks that are dotted with cemeteries — and even a few built entirely on top of them.  Doug Schneider will take you on an armchair tour including thriving cemeteries\, neglected cemeteries\, and the first crematorium west of the Mississippi.  Plus\, you will see where some famous people are buried.  All Prime Timers will be emailed a link for this free talk.
