Arkalalah Fall Festival at 106 Summit St., Arkansas City

When I sent out the fall festivals list, John D immediately responded with this suggestion. He and Steve G are from Ark City. So on National Trick or Treat Day, we’re going to Ark City. Arkalalah is a four day event with the best day on Saturday. Before noon, we can eat at the Kiwanis Pancake Feed, or chili from the American Legion for $5, or get a carry out Chicken Noodle Dinner from the Ark City UMC at 220 E. Washington. All of the other concessions start at 11 AM. There are street games and races to watch. The beer garden opens at Noon at the Ben Givens Park. The big parade starts at 2 PM downtown on Summit Street. And the Arkalalah Marching Festival begins at 4 PM. We should stay for the Halloween Costume Party at 5 PM to see the closeted married straight men come out in drag. There are lots of food vendors, a craft show and carnival to fill the time. See their schedule at: https://arkalalah.com/schedule.
If you want a ride, I can drive, like with my eyes closed, just ask Steve. I’ll leave my house at 10 AM, just text or call me at 316-573-9934. Wear comfortable shoes, a costume or a hat, and bring lots of money!
