Early Notice for Dinner and Pittsburgh Symphony Pops Concert
May 9 @ 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm

You’re so vain! . . . Well, hopefully not, but that will certainly be one of the huge hit songs you will hear if you attend the Pittsburgh Symphony Pops concert at Heinz Hall on Friday, May 9. Unlike the symphony’s classical music series, Pops concerts are more casual and “accessible,” and present musical themes from Broadway, Motown, and various other pop genres.
This particular concert sounds especially good. It features the greatest hits of three major singer-songwriters of the 1970s: Carly Simon, Carole King, and Joni Mitchell. Guest singers will perform the songs, accompanied by the world-renowned symphony orchestra. All three of these pop-rock legends are very highly regarded, and their songs have clearly stood the test of time. Carole’s album “Tapestry” remains one of the top albums ever!
Before the show, join us for dinner at The Eagle, located at 737 Penn Ave., Space 2, Pittsburgh, PA 15222., where their award-winning fried chicken and Southern comfort food shine. With a cozy atmosphere and a menu featuring classic sides, sandwiches, cocktails, and local craft beers, it’s the perfect spot to kick off the evening. We’ll meet at 5:15 p.m. to share a delicious meal together.
If you are interested, we ask that you RSVP that you will be attending the “Clouds in My Coffee” concert, the pre-show dinner at The Eagle, or both. You would be responsible for ordering your own ticket(s). More details to follow. Ron Smutny will coordinate the group and handle the dinner reservation.
As of March 21st, several Pittsburgh PrimeTimers have already purchased seats in the Family Circle section, left, C. The prices of seats in the theater vary depending on your personal preferences, such as acoustics, view, and accessibility. You are welcome to sit with us or where you feel most comfortable. Additionally, there are many seats available throughout the theater for this event.
