The word ‘Matsuri’ or ‘Festival’ literally means worshipping gods or ancestral spirits. Festivals were usually annual events to bless the cultivation of rice and the health of the community. In order to enliven the celebrations, there were performances of traditional dances and musical instruments.

Annual Japanese Food and Cultural Bazaar returns as a one-day event on Saturday from noon to 8:00 pm. Please help spread the word that we are back for in-person Bazaar. This event relies on volunteers from the Sangha and friends so stay tuned for opportunities to volunteer your time for setup, for Bazaar day, and for clean up after the event. Bazaar is only possible with the helping hands of many.
