THE 519 LOBBY RENOVATIONS

Dear Community-Led Groups,

For 50 years, hundreds of thousands of community members have come through our lobby to access programs, supports, and groups like yours. It’s time for a much-needed refresh! The 519’s first-floor lobby will be undergoing renovations starting in mid December.

This project is part of our ongoing effort to improve accessibility and functionality across our building. The updated lobby will offer enhanced programming space on the first floor as well as additional meeting space.

Here’s what you need to know:

All programs and services will continue throughout the renovation period.

The elevator and ramp will remain accessible.

Renovation work will take place in the lobby, Room 106, and the Glass Lobby Room. As a result, some additional bookings or room allocations may be affected as we

POSSIBLE NEW EVENTS

The Board has had some suggestions for possible new events.

These events would need organizers who can search out space and set the ground rules.

Bereavement Group – no formal professional leader. Sharing ideas on coping etc.

Movie Nights – either in a members home or at a theatre.

Happy Hour at the Wellbar – Monday cheap drinks start at 4:00. Would require at “host” from the club to greet members.

Mall Walks – Walking in a mall close to the village. Would need a leader and might need mall’s permission. Lots of older people do it.

I do it but I call is shopping.

LEGACY DONATIONS

This how we got the bunds from Woody Baldwin.

Has the club been good for you? Do you feel better attending events? If so, you might like to leave a Legacy Donation to the club to ensure its continuation.

It does not have to be a lot, it can be whatever you want.

You just have to put it in your will that you would like to leave funds to Prime Timers Toronto.

We are not a charity there will be no tax deduction forms issued.

Please think about it.

OUTDOOR EVENTS – REPEAT – hold until summer

It’s been suggested that the club might benefit from some outdoor events like Hamilton holds.

It could be an outdoor concert, a full picnic or just a bring your own lunch and eat together in Riverdale Park, there are plenty of picnic tables near the farm entrance,

All it takes is a volunteer or two to come up with an idea and advertise it. There is still time in September to enjoy an event outside.

If you are interested in putting that together please email info@primetimerstoronto.ca.
